Matthew Mooney is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, from assessment of potential investments through to deal execution. He plays an active role in the management of Knox’s portfolio companies, working with their senior management to drive value creation through operational and strategic improvements.

Prior to joining Knox, Matthew was a Principal with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He had more than ten years of strategy consulting experience with BCG in Australasia, North America, Europe, and Asia. He worked on a range of strategic, operational, and corporate finance issues, with a primary focus on the development of divisional growth strategies for large corporates. He also led substantial commercial due diligence engagements on behalf of private equity firms. On sabbatical from BCG, Matthew spent two years advising high growth New Zealand technology businesses while working for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise in the Consulate-General in Los Angeles.

Matthew has an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. In addition, he has a Master of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degree from The University of Auckland.
