Matt has more than 10 years of strategy consulting experience
with the Boston Consulting Group.
He started with the firm in Auckland in 1996. Over
the following 14 years he gained experience in the
pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries,
and with consumer products and industrial goods companies.
He was a member of the telecommunications, corporate
development, and strategy practices. As a Principal
in the Australasian system, he focused primarily on
the development of divisional growth strategies for
large corporates in Australia and New Zealand.
Between 1998 and 2004, he was based in the United
States, working for BCG in Boston for two years before
gaining his MBA at Stanford University. He then spent
2 years assisting high growth New Zealand technology
businesses while working for NZTE in New Zealand’s
Consulate-General in Los Angeles. From 2006 until
2009 he also sat on the Advisory Board of the ICEHOUSE,
a prominent New Zealand technology incubator.
Matt has an MBA from Stanford University, where he
was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He also has a Master
of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University
of Auckland.
